Sholly Scarlett is a registered psychologist in the field of clinical psychology, who divides her time between clinical practice, supervision and consultation. In her clinical practice, she uses a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Emotional Focus Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi, and EMDR to assist her clients with a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, post traumatic reactions, stress as well as relationship problems.

Although Sholly enjoys working with individuals and families, her passion is working with couples and finding new ways that couples can connect back to their love story. She has had the privilege of working with couples for over 10 years and finds it gratifying when couples are able to get clarity about their intimate bond and learn new strategies to deeply support each other through life’s transitions.

Sholly received honours with both her degrees. She received her Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in family studies from Southern Adventist University and her graduate degree, Master of Science with specialization in marriage and family therapy from Loma Linda University (Canadian Campus).

Sholly has worked in several settings including correctional facilities, mental health clinics, hospitals, public and private counselling firms, women’s shelters and school environments. She has facilitated and co-facilitated workshops on a variety of topics such as anger management, parenting, social skills related to children and communication. Currently, she is in private practice in the downtown area of Edmonton.

During her free time, Sholly likes to read, write, travel and volunteer for her community as it is an essential part of making communities stronger. It took a village to raise her and without her village, she would not be the woman she is today.
